Statement regarding the terrorists acts in Taba 10/10/2004
The permanent Committee of Al Azhar for Dialogue with the Monotheistic Religions condemns the terrorist actions that occurred in Taba and its surroundings in Southern Sinai, which terrified secured people from different races and religions. The victims and the civilian properties that is a source of the daily bread were endangered to destruction. The committee declines these terrorist acts and ensures that those who committed these crimes are the corrupters on earth, the outlaw of the Islamic religion teachings which forbids the killing of the human spirit. "if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people" (Surat al-Ma' eda-verse 32)
